Ms. Doyle first made her mark nationally in 1979 when she was one of the first TV women sports broadcasters in the U.S. to gain access to professional locker rooms. As a sports anchor and reporter for CBS-TV in Detroit from 1978 to 1984, her mettle was tested by such fierce competitors as Reggie Jackson, Bobby Knight, Bo Schembechler, Isiah Thomas and Kirk Gibson. Her 15 years of excellence in news and sports journalism earned her credibility with both athletes and peers, two Michigan Emmy nominations, a listing in "Who's Who of American Women" and induction, in 2007, to the Michigan Journalism Hall of Fame.
Roberto Goizueta, the legendary CEO of Coca-Cola, whet her appetite for business, during her years in Atlanta as president of Doyle-Farrell Business Communications. In 1987, she joined Ford Motor Company where she rose through the public affairs and governmental affairs ranks to become director of North America Communications. From Detroit to California, Melbourne to Mexico City, Ms. Doyle worked side-by-side with CEOs, union officials, national journalists, congressional leaders and some of the most powerful leaders in the U.S. She was also a member of Ford's executive team that handled the Firestone tire and Ford Explorer crisis, one of the toughest business challenges of the decade. In 2000, she was named by Automotive News as one of the "100 Most Influential Women in the North American Auto Industry."
Most recently, she co-authored, with Michigan State University's Institute for Public Policy and Social Research, Inforum's Women's Leadership Index report, which tracks and analyzes the progress of executive women beyond the glass ceiling at Michigan's 100 largest public companies. She also directed the media strategy, resulting in state-wide front-page headlines and international pick-up.
An honors graduate of the University of Michigan, Doyle also studied at the University of Madrid and completed graduate and executive training at Northwestern University, Harvard, Duke's Fuqua School of Business and the Ford Executive Development Center.
